River Tone
Taunton's river was once part of a thriving local waterway system, linking with canals such as the Bridgwater & Taunton and Grand Western, and the important River Parrett. Today the Tone is only navigated in Taunton itself but it remains popular with anglers. The Taunton Civic Society is spearheading efforts to bring life back to the river.
