Restriction: Gainsborough to Cottam – River Trent Freight movements

As large-scale equipment is to be transported on the river between Gainsborough and Cottam Power Station, it is necessary to restrict access to other river users at times when this transportation is in progress.

Approximately 18 number movements will take place throughout the year. Times and dates can be ascertained from Cromwell, Torksey and West Stockwith Locks or the contacts identified below.

Opening Times: Torksey and West Stockwith Locks

Winter hours – 1 Oct to Good Friday the Lock will be available for tides between 7am - 5pm a penning can be booked providing no less than 24 hours notice is given. These locks will not be available before 7am or after 5pm. Enquiries T 01636 704481. There is no user self operation. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day).

Opening Times: Holme Lock - Newark Nether Lock

Winter self operation, single handed and disabled boaters can book for assisted passage giving 24 hours notice, for weekends and Mondays bookings will be taken no later than 12pm on the Friday Enquiries T 01636 704481.

Stoppage: Cranfleet Flood Gates

UPDATE (03 February 2010): Replacement of flood gates
Winding above at entrance to Trent Lock & below downstream of Cranfleet Lock.
It is now possible for this stoppage to continue, boaters are advised not travel along the navigation and we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
