Advice: Lock 12, Hazelford Lock
09 Dec 2010 until further notice
Associated Regional Office: East Midlands Waterways
Due to partial failure of the downstream lock island approach mooring at Hazelford Lock. Please be aware that there should be no mooring to the affected area. The area is fenced off and buoys will be positioned around the failed piled section. The navigation and lock operation is not affected, and there is no restriction to the waterway. Repairs are needed, and the current plan for the works is estimated around May 2011. Please be cautious on approach and follow any signs or advice given. British Waterways apologises for any inconvenience.
Please follow special instructions or signage

Advice: Non Tidal Section of the Trent
16 Feb 2011 until further notice
Associated Regional Office: East Midlands Waterways
UPDATE (16 February 2011): Following a review of our planned spend for 2011/12 we have chosen to reduce the hours our lock keepers will be in attendance at the non-tidal River Trent Locks from the current hours of 9:30am to 6:00pm to new hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
We have not taken this decision lightly and understand it will cause some annoyance and disruption, but in view of reduced national budgets a cut in overtime has been necessary. I trust you will appreciate this is only a small reduction in hours against a backdrop of much bigger cuts.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
