Wildlife along the River Trent
As water quality improves, otters have begun to return to the river. Spanning the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire, the Trent Otters & Rivers Project is working to restore otter populations. They are training volunteers to help with surveys and habitat improvements, and constructing artificial otter holts.
