From high up in the Welsh hills, the River Usk winds its way through some attractive Welsh villages and the town from which it gets its name and through the Brecon Beacons National Park.

After working its way down through the country, thick woodland and over rocks, the river swiftly meets with the River Severn in the Bristol Channel after making its way through the Newport estuary.

Sights along the way include the pleasant town of Usk, Caerleon's Roman amphitheatre and Newport Castle.

Yr Afon Wysg

O’i tharddle yn uchel ym mryniau Cymru, mae’r Afon Wysg yn ymlwybro trwy nifer o bentrefi deniadol, trwy dref Brynbuga a thrwy Barc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog.

Ar ôl llifo i lawr trwy’r wlad, trwy goetir trwchus a thros greigiau, mae’r Wysg yn cyfarfod yr Afon Hafren ym Môr Hafren ar ôl pasio aber Casnewydd.

Mae’r afon yn llifo heibio nifer o olygfeydd diddorol, gan gynnwys tref ddifyr Brynbuga, amffitheatr Rufeinig Caerllion a Chastell Casnewydd.
