Walking along the River Weaver
The towpath is walkable for most of its length from Winsford to Runcorn. In Northwich, you will need to detour through the town centre or country lanes and the Marbury Country Park.
The Delamere Way crosses the navigation at Dutton Locks, between Northwich and Runcorn. It offers peaceful walking in the nearby woods of Delamere.

Towpath Improvement Works are due to begin on the 13th October 2008 on the Weaver Navigation in Northwich until 9th January 2009. The towpath (also a Public Right of Way) will need to be closed for safety reasons during the construction, which begins at Hartford Bridge (A556), heading north to the entrance to Monarch Drive in Kingsmead.
The navigation will remain open throughout the duration of the works. A plan of alternative routes will be posted at each towpath closure point.
