Boating along the River Witham

For most boaters, access to the Fossdyke and Witham will be from the tidal River Trent at Torksey. There are plentiful facilities and moorings here, so the location is popular as a safe haven for boaters navigating the Trent as well as those turning onto the Fossdyke Navigation.

The Fossdyke and Witham navigations are often lined with high banks, which restricts the view available from your steering position. However, they offer exceptionally relaxed cruising and the Witham, in particular, boasts a variety of pleasant riverside settlements.
