River Yare
Full of interest for walkers, boaters and wildlife enthusiasts, the 29-mile Yare links Norwich with the rest of the Broads.
The River Yare was commercially one of the most important of the Broads Rivers. Rising in Breckland it drains towards Norwich before joining with the Wensum and heading out to sea at Yarmouth.
Norwich is a fascinating city with a history based on the wool trade, its towering cathedral spire providing a focal point. Water skiing is permitted on the Yare at certain times in specified locations. A permit is required.
