Restriction: Railway Bridge 19, South Thorne
15 Jul 2009 until further notice
Associated Regional Office: BW Yorkshire
Network rail are repairing the railway track supports over the canal bridge. During the works temporary scaffolding will be erected to protect the canal from any possible falls of materials or tools.
Although normal canal headroom will not be affected, there may be some short delays whilst the scaffolding is installed and the later removed.
It is not expected that the works will affect canal traffic. A lookout will be in place to watch for approaching boats and to stop the works and make the site safe before they arrive.
Craft should take care when approaching the site and be prepared to stop and wait if requested to do so, whilst a safe route is cleared.
These works should last approx. 4 weeks but until finished.
