The water supply at Tyrley is supplied from a borehole in a nearby field. The water is pumped and treated before it is supplied to the waterpoint. Unfortunately the pump and filter have failed and BW are currently investigating the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable solution to this problem.
The nearest alternatives to the North are Market Drayton and to the South, Norbury Junction.

Customers are advised that the pump out facility at Tower Wharf Service Station is currently out of order until further notice due to severe vandalism. The pump requires replacement.
The nearest British Waterways pump out facility is available at Calveley Service Station.

Stoppage: Ellesmere Port Wide Lock Flight
Associated Regional Office: North Wales & Borders WaterwaysUPDATE (11 February 2010): As a result of last month’s spell of particularly cold weather the scheduled stoppage works have been disrupted. In order to complete the works, the stoppage will be extended to the 26th March 2010.

Advice: Brockholes Weir near to Tattenhall
Associated Regional Office: North Wales & Borders WaterwaysUPDATE (08 February 2010): British Waterways advise that their term contractor will be undertaking planned works on the Brock Holes Weir, near Tattenhall on the Shropshire Union Canal. The canal and towpath will remain open for the duration of the works though the width of the canal will be slightly restricted. There will be occasional minor delays of upto an hour whilst contractors move plant.
Navigable traffic is requested to follow advice / instruction, if given, by site staff.
