Walking along the Shropshire Union Canal

The canal runs through delightful countryside, with all but a small stretch of the towpath usable by walkers. It is possible to walk from Wolverhampton all the way to the Mersey Estuary, passing through the historic city of Chester. A half-mile section near bridge 88 is currently impassable, although you can use a diversion through Nantwich.
