Walking along the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal

The towpaths are in good condition, allowing walkers easy access to the length of the canal. There are railway stations at Penkridge and Wolverhampton, offering possibilities for a one-way towpath walk.

The Staffordshire Way crosses the canal between bridges 89 and 90. This 92-mile long path runs from Mow Cop Castle to Kinver Edge.

There are a number of circular paths starting or touching the canal, varying in length from four to eight miles. You'll find also public paths and bridleways in nearby villages: for example, in Tixall, there are three routes to choose from.
