Update (12 September): Please note that the Stourbridge 16 is now open and the stoppage will then be from Wordsley Junction to Stourton Junction due to the breach.

8 September 2008: The canal has breached east of Middle Bridge and is effectivelly closed until further notice between the top of the Stourbridge 16 Locks and Stourton Junction. British Waterways staff are on site assessing the damage and assessing what can be done immediately. This page will be updated as more news becomes available.
