Stratford District Council have extended the works until December.
Works are continuing around the basin at Bancroft Gardens. This is to allow Stratford District Council to remove the lock bridge and prepare the groundwork for the new bridge as part of the gardens renovation project. This will be ongoing until August 2008.
Access to the Lock. Boaters are reminded that formal access to the locks from the river is via the Recreation Ground and Tramway Bridge. There will be a signed route through the construction site. The river bank at Bancroft Gardens will be closed to boats during the period of the works. There may be some resrictions to lock navigation while the construction works continue. Boats will be able to wind in the basin during the entire period of the works.

Associated Regional Office: West Midlands WaterwaysUPDATE (05 February 2010): Due to the extreme weather conditions delaying the works at this stoppage site, the canal will now be closed until 26th March.

UPDATE (02 February 2010): Following the extreme weather over December and early January the works on Wilmcote Locks have now been delayed. The cold weather has meant we have lost a number of days and the extreme temperature is delaying the setting on the mortar. We are accelerating the works and we are doing everything we can to finish before the revised stoppage date.

Associated Regional Office: BW West MidlandsParapet and abutment works are required to arrest a recent increase in deterioration. A closure is required to undertake the project safely and because of the complexity of the work. The timing of this work has been set to coincide with the planned stoppages at Lock 32, Lock 34, Culvert 6 and Edstone Aqueduct to disruption is minimised.

Stoppage: Lock 19, North Stratford Canal
Associated Regional Office: West Midlands WaterwaysUPDATE (20 January 2010): Following investigation works, the canal will be closed for repair works to a collapsed drain within Lock 19 which is causing flooding of the stoppage site at Lock 21.
Lock 19 will be fully de-watered with a fabric dam installed in the canal for the duration of the works.

The canal is restricted due to an inlet pipe collapsing causing flooding of the stoppage site at lock 21. The works will be carried out between the hours of 08:00 and 13:00.
