    UPDATE (21 October 2011): Further to the planned winter stoppage notice issued, please find below confirmed locations and dates of the works due to be carried out:

    Bridge 52 – 22nd November 2011 to 16th December 2011
    Bridge 53 – 22nd November 2011 to 16th December 2011
    Bridge 54 – 2nd January 2012 to 31st January 2012
    Bridge 55 – 5th January 2012 to 3rd February 2012
    Bridge 58 – 7th February 2012 to 29th February 2012

  1. Restriction: Stratford Split Bridges

    As part of the Stratford split bridges programme, grit blasting, repainting works and general maintenance works will be carried out to the following bridges on the below dates:

    Bridge 48 – 02/02/2012 to 28/02/2012
    Bridge 46 – 29/02/2012 to 16/03/2012
    Bridge 44 – 19/03/2012 to 30/03/2012
    Bridge 60 – 02/03/2012 to 16/03/2012

    Works to these bridges may result in boaters experiencing slight delays before being allowed through the works. Please be aware these are only estimated dates therefore there is potential for them to change.

  2. Stoppage: Wootton Wawen, Aqueduct 2

    Associated Regional Office: West Midlands Waterways

    Over the course of the summer, leaks on the aqueduct have slightly worsened highlighting the requirement to carry out detailed investigation works. On the outcome of the investigation the leaks will either be repaired, or a plan will be drawn up to enable more substantial works next year.

    These works are being carried out to coincide with the Stratford split bridge programme.

    The quoin on the top gate has become detached from the wall and over the summer it has steadily worsened, therefore we are taking the opportunity to carry out repairs while major stoppage works are taking place at lock 10.

  1. Stoppage: Bridge 28, Drawbridge Farm Lift Bridge

    Over the summer, the lift bridge has become increasingly difficult for customers to operate. Our intention is to carry out works to hopefully alleviate these problems. In order to carry out the works, the bridge will mainly be in the down position and even when up there will be a floating platform blocking the navigation. Therefore, unfortunately the navigation will be closed during this period.
