Restriction: Lock 56 Bancroft Gardens

Stratford District Council have extended the works until December.
Works are continuing around the basin at Bancroft Gardens. This is to allow Stratford District Council to remove the lock bridge and prepare the groundwork for the new bridge as part of the gardens renovation project. This will be ongoing until August 2008.
Access to the Lock. Boaters are reminded that formal access to the locks from the river is via the Recreation Ground and Tramway Bridge. There will be a signed route through the construction site. The river bank at Bancroft Gardens will be closed to boats during the period of the works. There may be some resrictions to lock navigation while the construction works continue. Boats will be able to wind in the basin during the entire period of the works.

Associated Regional Office: West Midlands WaterwaysUPDATE (05 February 2010): Due to the extreme weather conditions delaying the works at this stoppage site, the canal will now be closed until 26th March.

UPDATE (02 February 2010): Following the extreme weather over December and early January the works on Wilmcote Locks have now been delayed. The cold weather has meant we have lost a number of days and the extreme temperature is delaying the setting on the mortar. We are accelerating the works and we are doing everything we can to finish before the revised stoppage date.

Stoppage: South Stratford Warwick Road Lock 55
Associated Regional Office: West Midlands WaterwaysUPDATE (02 March 2010): Due to unforeseen access problems, and a drift in our planned works over the winter stoppage period caused by the severe weather conditions in January, we have reluctantly found ourselves needing to extend the length of the stoppage on lock 55, Stratford Canal, to ensure we can complete the programmed works.
