Northbound (Saltersford Tunnel to Preston Brook) - Entry on the hour until 20 minutes past the hour.
Southbound (Saltersford Tunnel to Barnton) - Entry 30 minutes past the hour until 10 minutes to the hour.

Mondays & Wednesdays - 8.30am to 12pm (last passage 11.15am)
Fridays - 11.30am to 3.00pm (last passage 2.15pm)
Saturdays - 8.30am - 12.30pm (last passage 11.45am)
Closed Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day

Advice: Anderton Boat Lift Opening Schedule 2009
Associated Regional Office: BW Wales & BordersFrom 20th April 2009, the maintenance morning for the Boat Lift will change to Thursdays. The Lift will be closed to private traffic until 11.00 a.m. on Thursdays from that date.
The lift will open at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesdays from that date. There is no change to the Trip Boat schedule or Operations Centre opening times.

Associated Regional Office: Central Shires WaterwaysUPDATE (22 December 2009): Essential bridge repair works are scheduled to be undertaken. The canal will be closed to boaters at this location. The towpath will remain open with local diversions where necessary to facilitate the works and a temporary footbridge is in place to facilitate access to the public right of way to the North of the bridge.
Boaters approaching from Burton-on-Trent and the West can wind at Bridge 23 Willington.
Boaters approaching from Weston Lock can wind at Stenson Lock.

The towpath will remain open with local diversions where necessary to facilitate the works, a temporary footbridge will be in place to facilitate access to the public right of way and Kings Mill Lane to the North of the bridge.
Boats approaching from Derwent Mouth can wind at Bridge 3 Shardlow.
Boats moored between Bridge 8 and Bridge 20 may wind at Stenson Lock or between Bridge 11 and 12.
