Walking along the Wilts & Berks Canal
Walking trails have been set up allowing you to follow parts of the original canal course. The Melksham Canal Trail is signposted throughout with specially commissioned waymarkers. Elsewhere, a walkable towpath runs alongside many restored sections of waterway, such as at Swindon, Dauntsey and Wootton Bassett. However, please note that some restoration sites do not currently have public access.
