Restriction: Towpath between Sidbury Lock 3, the Commandery and the Anchor public house, Diglis Basin

Towpath has been closed

The use of the towpath between lock 3 and Diglis Basin has been closed for a number of years (due to the new development at Diglis Basin). During this time the towpath surface at a couple of points has become unsafe due to willow tree root damage. With the development in the basin now complete it is important repair work in the interest of safety is undertaken before the towpath is re-opened to the public.It is neccessary to remove the trees; dig up the roots and carry out repair works to the towpath. It is likely this work will be completed within a month.

Opening Times: Diglis Locks

Open 8am till 4pm unless affected by flood waters on River Severn. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. During winter hours we recommend that the locks are only used during daylight hours. Please also be aware of the opening times on the River Severn Locks which are only manned between 8am and 4pm Thursday to Monday for non commercial traffic.
