Fishing along the Wyrley & Essington Canal
Improvements in both water quality and bankside vegetation combined with fish restocking means that much of the waterway provides excellent fishing for roach, bream, perch and carp. A relatively shallow canal, with turning bays at Cannock, the Wyrley & Essington provides good bream catches. Fishing rights on the section from Pelsall Common, running for approximately 1.3 miles, are controlled by Cashmores Angling Club (contact 07989 700638 or email tonykulik@hotmail.co.uk).
