IWA Maesbury Rally

05 September 2008 – 07 September 2008

Maesbury
Shropshire

The Maesbury Rally is one of a number of events that form the Inland Waterway Association’s National Campaign Festival, and its aim is to celebrate the continuing restoration of the Montgomery Canal.

There will be a whole host of activities for you and your family to enjoy, such as a farmer’s market, displays on the newly-restored fly-boat; Saturn, boat trips, Wild Over Waterways (WOW) activities for kids and Morris Dancers. Guided walks to Crickheath and Aston Nature Reserve will run throughout the day, but for the more energetic festival-goer the paddle-sports demonstrations and taster sessions are not to be missed. As well as all this, visitors will also be treated to a spectacular evening hog roast accompanied by music from The Boat Band.

Festivities will be held in the orchard adjacent to Maesbury post office, and entry is free. For more information go to www.monty08.com.
