‘In the pink’ sponsored walks
18 May 2008 – 18 May 2008
Monmouthshire
Take part in one of the ‘In the Pink’ sponsored walks along the beautiful Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, and help raise money for breast cancer research.
There are two routes to choose from of varying difficulty; the North route and the South route. Walkers are able to register at different points throughout each route, either taking on a shorter section or treating it as one long walk.
The North route begins at the canal basin at 11am and entails a 12 mile walk to Henderson Hall in Talybont. Departing again at 2pm, visitors then embark on a five mile walk to Llangynidr Community Centre.
The South route departs from Goytre Wharf visitor centre at 10am, for a 20 mile walk to the Bridgend pub in Govilon. Starting again at 2pm visitors will then walk a further 10 miles to Llangynidr Community Centre.
There will be ample opportunity throughout both routes for walkers to stop off for refreshments along the way. Both walks will finish at Llangynidr Community Centre for a party and free entertainment, including live music, food and refreshments and children’s activities. Entrance is free to walkers and children under 15 years. Admission is £3 for senior citizens and £5 for everyone else.
