Banbury Canal Day

This year’s Banbury Canal Day promises to be the best yet as it celebrates the 400th anniversary of the Banbury charter, granted by James I in 1608.

The festival will take place along the historic Oxford Canal, around the Castle Quay shopping centre and Banbury Museum.

Entertainment includes an art exhibition by local artist, Michele Field, acting workshops and performances by the Banbury Cross Players, and a bell boat regatta organised by Banbury Canoe Club. Last year’s canal day boasted a wide range of stalls and this year will be no exception, with stalls selling arts and crafts, gifts and food, as well as a bar serving refreshments.
