Yours to taste: Regent’s Canal

Regent's Canal»

Thank you to everyone who came along to the second year of Yours to taste: Regent’s Canal on Sunday 23 August 2009.

The day combined incredible weather with a free event that explored the Regent’s Canal and introduced many local, and not so local, people to East London’s waterways and the areas around them.

Thousands of people came along to the event and we hope that many of those will have enjoyed walking the waterside, listening to the live barge top music from the River Rat Pack and discovering the many sights linked by the canal between Shoreditch and Limehouse Basin. The event was far more popular than ever anticipated, based on attendance of last year’s event and other waterway activities we have undertaken this summer.

We hope that those affected by the large numbers also felt the impact of the incredibly hard work put in by many of the venues’ teams. We, at British Waterways London, learnt a lot from the event and look forward to applying our experience to the work we do on waterside activity across the capital.
