Enjoy a guided tour around the Silver Cross, starting from Gas Street Basin these walks encompass the Old Turn Junction, Oozel Street Loop and the flight of Farmer’s Bridge Locks on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.

During your journey find out how the Duke of Bridgewater influenced the development of the canal network. Discover where Birmingham’s first gas works were. See if you can find the site of Cadbury’s first chocolate factory, and learn which restaurant became the site of the first recording of the Archers in 1951.

The walks take place on the following dates:

All the walks start at 11.30am and last for approximately one hour. Walkers should meet outside the Canalside Cafe in Gas Street Basin.
