A new season of one and two day canal craft and needlework courses starts in mid October at Audlem Mill, alongside Audlem Locks on the Shropshire Union Canal.

Subjects include the ever popular rag rugging and boat fender making, as well as boat cabin crochet, making a traditional boatwoman’s bonnet or boatman’s spiberweb belt, and also other crafts such as peg loom weaving, making a jointed fur teddy bear, spinning, jewellery, knitting and many more subjects.

All the tutors are very experienced in their own craft, with the waterways ones all being members of the Waterways Craft Guild, and there has been excellent feedback from participants on how much they enjoyed the day and the lunch. Courses are generally aimed at beginners or those with a little experience.

For full details download the events programme or get one directly from Audlem Mill by calling 01270 811059 or visiting www.audlemmill.co.uk.
