Anderton Boat Lift

When the restoration of the Anderton Boat Lift was completed in 2002, it was followed by the opening of the Operations Centre in 2003. It would be easy for a family to make a day out of a trip to Anderton, with something to interest children and adults alike.

Offering interactive displays, educational facilities, gift shop and a café, there is something for all the family.

The café offers visitors an array of freshly made sandwiches, soups, snacks and hot and cold drinks and delicious ice cream and confectionary is available to buy in the gift shop.

Visitors flock to the “Cathedral of the Canals” – with 115,000 people discovering the unique attraction last year.
