Duck

With their stout bodies, short necks and wings, ducks waddle instead of walking due to their webbed feet.

Ducks used to be wild animals, until they were tamed by the Chinese hundreds of years ago. They are very clean animals and use their beaks to preen themselves.

Did you know?

  • Ducks are related to geese and swans;
  • Male ducks are called drakes and babies are called ducklings;
  • To help them paddle, ducks have webbed feet;
  • To keep their eyes from going dry, they duck their heads under water 2 -3 times a day;
  • Although they spend a lot of time in the water, ducks stay warm and dry as their feathers are water-proof.
