Otter
With webbed feet, long tails and long bodies, otters are strong swimmers. Their eyes can be found on the tops of their heads and they have whiskers growing around their snout.
Luckily for the otters, they have two layers of fur – a thick waterproof one with a warm snuggly one underneath. Their homes are known as holts.
Did you know?
- Otters can sense food swimming nearby as their whiskers pick up vibrations;
- They can breed all year round and their cubs are born covered in fur;
- For fun, otters enjoy diving for pebbles;
- They are the largest mammal and measure 115cm from the nose to the end of the tail;
- Otters have webbed feet and five toes.
