Scottish Photography Competition 2009
The results are in! Our Scottish canals photograph competition closed for another year on 30 November 2009 with nearly 200 entries coming in across the 7 categories.
Our judging panel had a tough time selecting one winner from each section but the successful images are below:
Age Group 0-8
Winner
Jamie Anderson's lovely photo of ducks cruising along the canal won first place.

Holly Fieldman's shot of the Forth & Clyde canal.

Age Group 9-17
Winner
Archie Vicker's entry of the Union Canal at Edinburgh Quay took first place.

Ruairidh Gough's shot of a lock keeper on the Caledonian Canal.

Sharon Merredew's fantastic image of The Falkirk Wheel in action was the winner.

Winner
Valerie Dallimore's image of Forth Augustus leading out into Loch Ness on the Caledonian Canal took first place.

Jenny Carlile's shot of a member of staff opening Oakfield Bridge on the Crinan Canal.

Category 3: Environment & Wildlife
Winner
Diarmid Weir's fantastic shot of the Caledonian Canal with Ben Nevis in the background was the chosen winner.

Mark Maden's superb shot of the sun rising on the Forth & Clyde Canal near Kirkintilloch.

Katie MacDonald's lovely image of Crinan basin on the Crinan Canal was the winner.
