Scottish Photography Competition 2010


It's time to get the camera out again as our Scottish Canals Photograph Competition returns for 2010! There is a category for everyone with a wide variety of prizes on offer

Category 0-8 year olds

Open to any photograph taken on Scotland's canal network by youngsters 8 years old and below.
Winning prize: £100 worth of vouchers for the Early Learning Centre.

Category 9-17 year olds

Open to any photograph taken on Scotland's canal network by anyone within the age group.
Winning prize: £100 worth of vouchers for Toys R Us.

18 and over

This year there are 4 individual categories:
Buildings & Structures
People & Places
Environment & Wildlife
Boats & Water

The best entries from each category will go forward to the final judging with the overall winner being awarded £150 worth of vouchers for Jessops. There will also be family passes to The Falkirk Wheel for the best entry within each category.

New for 2010: Paddle Power

To reflect the increasing popularity of paddling on the canal network (i.e. canoeing, kayaking etc.), this category is open to any image taken on Scotland's canals of paddling activity. The winning prize is £100 worth of vouchers for Tiso.

How to enter

Entering could not be easier! All you have to do is take your picture and send it into showusscotland@britishwaterways.co.uk with the category you are entering clearly marked in the subject line.
Closing date for entries is Tuesday 30 November 2010 and the winners will be announced before the end of the year.

Terms & conditions of entry:
Entries must be submitted by 5pm on 30 November 2010 - any entry after that date may not be considered. British Waterways have the right to use all entered images for any promotional purpose. Images will not be returned.
