Support Sue Ryder Care with a canalside challenge
24th Jun 2009
For the second year running, Sue Ryder Care is staging its Ride for Ryder summer appeal which asks you to hop aboard transport of your choice or walk to raise vital funds for the charity.
Sue Ryder Care would like to encourage people to experience the beauty of their canals and waterways whether this is by boat, bike, canoe or on foot. By encouraging friends and families to sponsor their 'canalside challenge', people will be raising funds to help the charity.
All money raised will help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver expert and compassionate care to people living with conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Stroke and Acquired Brain Injury,
"Help us make a real difference"Laura Savory, Running and Challenge Events Co-ordinator said, "The possibilities are endless for Ride for Ryder with a lot of scope for creative fun whilst raising much needed funds for Sue Ryder. By supporting us in this way, people can help us make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people we care for each year."
As well as these self-staged events, there will also be a London to Cambridge bike ride covering just under 60 miles on the 6th September, and a sponsored bike ride with four routes of 18, 35, 55 and 83 miles will be staged in Peterborough on 20th September.
Special fundraising packs, crammed with ideas on events people can hold, as well as how to maximise sponsorship are now available to download from the charity’s website www.suerydercare.org/rideforryder or call 0845 050 1953. Hands-on fundraising support is also available locally from your nearest Sue Ryder Care team.
