Broads hunt for eco-warriors
23rd Jun 2003
The search is on for eco warriors to help with nature conservation in the Broads. The opportunity to get out in the fresh air, meet new people and experience the fun of a boat trip in a working 'baking tray' will be on offer next month from the Broads Authority.
Taster days for "scrub bashing" in this internationally important and fragile wetland are being held by the Authority on Monday 30 June and Wednesday 2 July.
The days which will start at 10.00 and finish by 15.30 will be spent with Broads Conservation Volunteers at Marsh Farm, Horning, doing nature conservation work for the benefit of birds, rare plants, invertebrates and small mammals.
The Broads, which is part of the National Park family, is home to some of the rarest wildlife in Britain, including the Swallowtail, Britain's largest butterfly. To book a place ring Angie or Maggie on 01493 369102 by Friday 27 June.
