Construction work to cause temporary restrictions on Nene

Navigation on the River Nene is being restricted at Northampton Washlands and Weston Favell Lock from 2 June to 14 July 2003, the Environment Agency (EA) has announced.

According to the Agency, the temporary restriction is necessary to construct three new access platforms, one in the washlands and one each side of Weston Favell Lock. Construction will take place at the end of the navigation channel. Boaters are asked to approach with caution and to sound their horn on approach. They are also asked to take heed of any notices posted by the contractor.
