The Wey & Arun Canal Trust needs your vote

14th Oct 2011

The Wey & Arun Canal Trust needs public support to win a grant from NatWest Bank. The grant will be used to restore the bridge over the Wey & Arun Canal on Loxwood High Street in Sussex.

NatWest Bank is giving members of the public the chance to vote online and decide whether or not The Wey & Arun Canal Trust will receive a grant of up to £6,000 from the NatWest Community Force Fund. The voting system will remain open until 23rd October 2011.

Priority work

The Trust has applied for the grant so that it can replace the steel parapets on the bridge with attractive brick parapets. The work has been a priority for the Trust for several months, with approximately 66 per cent of funding already having been raised.

Members of the public are able to support the restoration work directly by visiting www.communityforce.natwest.com, clicking ‘vote for a project now’ and searching for ‘Loxwood’ or ‘RH14’. Voters will then be asked to register, which is free of charge and will take no longer than two minutes.
