Cafe society comes to Hatton Locks

27th Jun 2003

Continental cafe society is coming to Britain's canals. The first of a new breed of waterside cafes has opened at Hatton Locks, near Warwick - and is already proving popular with locals.

A Victorian stable block, where boatmen's horses once rested, has been transformed into a stunning contemporary cafe. The traditional canalside surroundings make Hatton Lock Cafe an excellent location to enjoy a coffee and a cake!

Lisa Shepherd, for British Waterways, explained that Hatton was just the first of many. "Hatton Locks Cafe is the first exciting step in a new direction for us. Canals are wonderful places to visit, and Hatton Locks are no exception, as they already provide a relaxing and interesting destination."
