Singing Kettle at The Falkirk Wheel
Families are in for a special treat when they visit The Falkirk Wheel this weekend.
Not only will they be able to take an exciting trip on the world’s first and only rotating boat lift, on Sunday 21 August they will get the chance to singalong with the fantastic Singing Kettle absolutely free.
Cilla, Artie, Gary and Kevin, will be touching down for an extra special outdoor performance, singing some favourite Kettle tunes as well as a selection from their current smash-hit show “Blast Off”.
The performance, which starts at 1 pm, will be the only chance youngsters will have to see the top Scottish children’s entertainers perform in Falkirk this year.
As the event is free, and space is limited, families are advised to turn up early to avoid disappointment. Space is standing only.
Richard Millar, Service and Business Development Manager, British Waterways Scotland, said: “Having The Singing Kettle perform a special show just for our young visitors only adds to the unique experience they will have when they visit The Falkirk Wheel.
“We are delighted The Singing Kettle has agreed to put on a show for us and cannot wait to hear the children, and their parents, singalong on the day.”
As with all Singing Kettle performances there will be lots of audience participation and family fun and some lucky fans may even end up on stage as part of the show.
The Singing Kettle's Cilla Fisher said: “The Falkirk Wheel is a fantastic experience for all the family. We are all really looking forward to our visit and the chance to be in the area once again to sing lots of great songs.”
After watching all the activities on stage youngsters will be able to create their very own adventures in the Irn Bru Fun Factory and learn more about The Falkirk Wheel and the canal network from the interactive exhibitions in the centre and on the interpretive panels around the basin.
As if that wasn’t enough, from noon until 4 p.m. a host of other children’s attractions will be on site, including a bouncy castle, face painting, a puppet show and a mask and puppet workshop. Plenty of entertainment for all the family!
Viewing of The Singing Kettle performance is free of charge and will last approximately 40 minutes. Boat trips on The Falkirk Wheel cost £8 for adults, £4.25 for children and £6.50 concession. Children under three go free. A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is priced at £21.50. Boat trips can be booked in advance by calling 08700 500 208.
