Fire blocks Grand Union at Uxbridge

The Grand Union Canal is closed between Cowley and Uxbridge (locks 88 and 89) on Tuesday 22 July, due to a serious fire. Both the canal itself and the towpath are closed, and are not expected to reopen before 7pm. Police have created a 200 metre exclusion zone around the canal while investigations are on going.
Update: The canal has since reopened.
