Lockwind a success on the Shroppie
The August Bank Holiday weekend saw another successful event for the Shropshire Union Canal Society.
They held their annual Lockwind at Cholmondeston Lock on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal and the event could only be described as a success.
In total, 238 boats were locked through over the four days, raising a total of £2400 for the Society to spend on enhancement works on the ‘Shroppie’.
1992 saw the first Lockwind and since then, the Society has raised no less than £35,000 by holding the event each year on the two summer bank holidays.
