Scotland's winning photograph announced
The results of this year’s Lowland Canals Photographic Competition have been announced.
Johan Ohlsson from Gothenburg, Sweden, took the winning image (above), entitled ‘Slowly Forward’.
Launched in April, the competition was open to amateur photographers of any age and must have included part of the Union or Forth & Clyde canals since May 2001.
Images were also required to include a boat or boats and / or people using the waterways and its environment for recreation or canal transport.
2005’s winning entrants were:
First Prize: Johan Ohlsson from SwedenSecond Prize: Mrs J Gardiner from Hamilton
Third Prize: Mr Paul Kelsey from Longridge, West Lothian
Three photographs also received commendations: Mr Paul Kelsey from Longridge, West Lothian; Dr Graeme Pollock from Ayr; Ms Nan Caldwell from Clydebank.
