Mersey waterfront seeks people's panel
Mersey Waterfront are looking for volunteers to join a 'People's Panel'.
They are keen to find people who are interested in plans to improve waterfronts - and who can ensure that these plans are supported by the public.
Mersey Waterfront regularly hold People’s Panels around Merseyside to ensure that public support exists for any improvements they want to make.
These Panels are based on the 'Citizens Jury' model from the USA. Each Panel consist of 16 or so members of the public and a professional facilitator who helps the Panel in its deliberations. The outcomes of Panels are used to directly influence the direction in which the waterfront work develops.
MW is particularly looking for younger people to join the Panel, as this group is currently under-represented, although everyone is welcome to apply.
The next Panel will be looking specifically at the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Corridor at Bootle. Merseyside. In partnership with Sefton Borough Council, MW have exciting plans for improvement to the canal and its environs, and require support to move these forward.
Mersey Waterfront are now registering interest for the Panel, which will run in January. If you would like to attend, please contact Carole Parker, Partnership Manager at Mersey Waterfront, as soon as possible on 0151 237 3940, or e- mail carole.parker@merseyside.org.uk.
The date, time and venue are to be confirmed. There will be a buffet lunch provided and cash prizes for three lucky Panel members.
