Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes is the famous home of the biggest indoor real snow slopes in the UK. Less well known but equally noteworthy, is the scenic waterside walk along the Grand Union Canal which stretches along the northern and eastern fringes of the city.

Milton Keynes gains a valuable green corridor from the Grand Union Canal. Running from historic Bletchley in the south to pretty Cosgrove in the north, the canal passes Fenny Stratford Lock (a nice location for a pub lunch or waterside pint) and the rural expanse of Giffard Park. Only occasional glimpses of the city itself intrude on the typical canalside scene of bridges and bobbing narrowboats. Walkers could almost imagine themselves deep in the English countryside – which indeed, five minutes past the city boundaries, you soon could be.
