Narrow boat on the Shropshire Union Canal

Beautiful scenery is par for the course in Cheshire.

The unspoilt countryside of the north-west is enhanced by the innovative engineering which brought economic success to the region. From the Anderton Boat Lift on the Trent & Mersey Canal to the Barton Swing Aqueduct on the Bridgewater Canal(considered the inspiration for ‘Canal Mania’), there’s plenty to marvel at as you float through the green countryside of the Potteries.

Cheshire is also home to the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port.
