Little Moreton Hall is one of the finest examples of timber framed houses in the country. With its crooked frontage and long gallery, the house is almost a 'chocolate box' example of a tudor hall. The house is noted for its wall paintings and knot garden. Work on the Hall began in 1508 and was completed in a little over 100 years through the work and inspiration of three generations of the Moreton family, local landowners for over 700 years.
Proud of the fact that the family home had never been sold, the Hall was gifted to the National Trust by a Moreton descendant, Bishop Abraham in 1938.
