One of Macclesfield’s most popular attractions, the Paradise Silk Mill is a place where visitors can go to see professionals demonstrate the complicated process of weaving on one of the museum’s 26 restored Jacquard handlooms.

Opened as a museum around 1930, Paradise Silk Mill is the place to come if you’re keen to learn about silk production. Its constantly changing exhibitions display a wide range of objects, from large looms to small silk buttons and Victorian costume. The Silk Heritage Centre and the Silk Industry Museum, with their fantastic textile and costume displays, is also situated right next door.
