Fishing in Cumbria

Cumbria is a veritable playground for anglers. Brown trout abound in nearly every body of water, and competitive fisherman can also try their hand at reeling in the vendace (in Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite), eels (in Esthwaite) and the exceptionally large pike found in [/canals-and-rivers/coniston-water/fishing Coniston Water first hunted by Cistercian monks in the 13th century.
