The museum houses one of the largest collections of Roman military altar stones from a single site in Britain. It also plays host to the mysterious 'Serpent Stone' and alsoexceptional and unique examples of Celtic religious sculptures.

Spectatularly set on low cliffs and over looking the beautiful Solway Firth, the museum also has a new watch tower so you can gaze over the wonderful scenery.

The museum is open from April to June daily except Monday and Wednesday 10:00 - 17:00; July to October every day 10:00 - 17:00; November to March, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10:30 - 16:00. It also open Bank Holidays 10:00 - 17:00 and is closed Christmas and New Year.
