These impressive ruins on the bank of the River Eamont include an early 13th-century keep and later buildings. You can climb to the top of the keep and survey the domain of its eccentric one-time owner, Lady Anne Clifford, who restored the castle in the 17th Century. There's also an exhibition and a gift shop.
