Enfield occupies a convenient location within easy reach of the capital yet surrounded by the verdant countryside of the River Lee and the Lee Valley Park.

Enfield Lock is the place to go for a spot of gongoozling (watching the colourful boats passing through the lock) before a relaxing waterside pint in The Greyhound – or a rejuvenating walk along the towpath to Rammey Marsh.

For local residents, the River Lee brings the sights and sounds of the countryside close to home. Enfield School is a short distance from the waterway and the train station is just a little further east. Anglers can find weekend recreation between Rammey Marsh Lock and Enfield Lock (see our fishing pages for more information about rod licences and angling on the inland waterways).
