Flatford Bridge Cottage is famous as the subject of many of John Constable's paintings. Today, the 16th Century thatched cottage hosts an exhibition of the great painter's work as well as a tea-garden and boat hire centre.
Bridge Cottage lies in the beautiful Dedham Vale, just upstream from Flatford Mill - a water-powered mill once owned by Constable's father. Wildlife and birds are in abundance here.
Flatford Mill, Valley Farm and Willy Lott's House are leased to the Field Studies Council as venues for arts-based courses for all age groups. Telephone 01206 298283 for more information.
