Image for Saul Junction

Saul Junction has been an unusual and attractive waterway crossroads since 1827. Here the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal meets both the Cotswold Canal and the Stroudwater Navigation - currently undergoing restoration. Peaceful, pleasant and secluded, the junction is typical of its Gloucestershire surroundings. Visitors can relax and take in the view at the Saul Junction tea room.

Once a year, Saul Junction sheds its air of serenity and becomes a hub of activity and excitement with an ever popular boat, beer and music festival. The Saul Canal Festival and Folk on the Water Weekend sees 12,000 people, a cornucopia of boats, a wealth of music and theatre performers, and a host of traders converge on the sleepy crossroads.
