Slimbridge is the headquarters of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) - founded here by Sir Peter Scott in 1946. Set in 120 acres, it is world famous for its waterfowl, both local and migrating species in the winters.

Its new Visitor Centre has details about the WWT's conservation programme, houses a Wildlife Art Gallery and the Hanson Discovery Centre which educates on wetlands and our dependency on them. Also worth a climb is the Observation Tower if you'd like to see spectacular views of the River Severn.

Words cannot describe how lovely this place is - you simply have to visit it and experience its beauty and tranquility for yourself. A must see if you are in the area.
