Hertford
Steeped in history and surrounded by rolling countryside, Hertford seems much further than a mere 25 miles from the capital.
The town enjoys an enviable position on the banks of the River Lee; popular with walkers, cyclists and nature-lovers.
Hertford East train station is a brief walk from the River Lee. Commuters en route to and from the station can make the most of a riverside walk either through the town or out towards the playing fields. The Mead Business Centre is ideally situated for lunchtime strolls along the secluded towpath – workers could even cycle to work and avoid the frustrations of the rush hour.
Apart from the Lee, Hertford is also home to three other rivers - the Rib, Beane and Mimram. Together, the four rivers are depicted in a water sculpture in the town’s Salisbury Square.
